A mukhtar, the elected neighbourhood headman in Turkey, gets dozens of calls a day: a streetlight is out, the rubbish was not collected, when will the water be back on. When requests live on scraps of paper, nobody remembers which ones were passed to the municipality, and the list of families in need is kept in scattered notes. In the app we build, residents send a request with a photo and location, and the headman routes it to the right department and updates its status. Notices about outages, vaccination days, elections and events reach the whole neighbourhood as a notification with one tap.

Off-the-shelf software or custom-built?

When off-the-shelf is enough

For offices that only want to make announcements, WhatsApp communities may be enough to start with.

When custom software pays off

For local offices and headman associations that want orderly management of request tracking, routing to authorities, appointments and aid lists, a custom app offers a more transparent service.
