In nuts and coffee, quality is decided at the roast and profit is lost in shrinkage. If raw hazelnuts, peanuts or green beans are not checked at intake for moisture and aflatoxin, the problem shows up on the shelf; and when roast temperature and time are left to the roaster’s experience, batches taste different from one another. In the system we build, green product is received with supplier lot, moisture and test result. Each roast batch is recorded with its profile, temperature and time, and shrinkage is calculated automatically from weight in and out. Packed product is labelled with lot and best-before date, and wholesale and e-commerce orders draw from the same stock.

Off-the-shelf software or custom-built?

When off-the-shelf is enough

For single-shop roasters with a small range, an off-the-shelf POS and stock package may be enough.

When custom software pays off

For plants selling through a dealer network, chain stores and marketplaces, a custom system joining roast records, shrinkage and lot tracking with multichannel stock makes profitability clear.

Frequently asked questions

Can data be taken from the roasting machine?

Temperature and time data can be read from roasters with a data output; otherwise the operator enters it on the tablet.

Do marketplace orders deduct from stock automatically?

Yes. Stock and order synchronisation is set up with supported marketplaces and your e-commerce site.

Can we define a separate profile for coffee?

Yes. Bean origin, roast level and grind options are defined specifically for coffee products.

What happens to a lot with a bad aflatoxin result?

The lot is automatically put in quarantine, blocked from use in production and noted in the supplier report.
